Studio TROIKA is working on a new project in Rowley, MA for MCR Technologies. Formerly a machine shop, this utilitarian building will be transformed into offices complete with social spaces, a cafe and warehouse. The building has some unique structural components, including exposed double tees, that will be a great asset to a light filled, open concept office.

Woods Hill Table
Check out this Chronicle profile on Woods Hill Table, a collaboration between the Niemitz Design Group and studio TROIKA (architect of record). The project was a complete rebuild (see earlier blog posts) of the former West Concord Market building. It’s a really great space with even better food!

EBF : Box in a Box
Take a look at the animation below of our design for “Box in a Box” – a self-supporting boxing gym that can be autonomously inserted into existing gyms.
The video outlines the process for installing Box in a Box, which comes outfitted with its own structural system, a screen with sound attenuation, lighting, audio/video, and, of course, bags.

A makerspace is is a community-operated workspace where people with common interests, often in computers, machining, technology, science, digital art or electronic art, can meet, socialize and collaborate.[1]

Beyond being Passive House (PH) certified, this house is completely spray foam free, an early design strategy that called for unique solutions to achieve PHIUS PH certification.

Check out the new office swag! Maybe you’ll see us around town sporting our new Troika threads.
Office Picture Day!
With so many recent additions to our staff, we decided to update our website with some new office photos. It was a very windy day, so we ended up with quite the blooper reel! We didn’t want to spare the public of the outtakes, so here are some favorites for your enjoyment!
We also made several attempts at the infamous “Law & Order” pose.
